Where Children Live by Naomi Shihab Nye pg. 642
This was a happy poem. I love children and everything they represent. They bring such joy and freshness to our world. This poem is one everyone should read. It will make you smile just by imagining the toys in the yard and the laughter in the air. Children are so innocent and pure and have so much to offer. I feel that children naturally brighten up any place. I prefer color, noise, and comotion. I can't stand dead air and boring dullenss around me. That's why I have chose to work with children all these years. I wouldn't change it for anything in this world. A really sweet poem.

I really enjoyed this poem also and can relate. Driving by someone's house and you just know they have children. I love my children I really do but they can be so distructive!!! You can spend all this time cleaning and putting everything back into its place and 5 minutes later it looks like a tornado hit!!! The fun part is talking them into cleaning it up. I always seem to have to bribe them somehow:)
ReplyDeleteI love children also! I can't wait to have kids of my own whenever my husband and I are ready, but for now we have our wonderful nephews and nieces who I call my own children. LOL. I guess it is in our nature, us women, to love and to nurture.
ReplyDeleteThis is one I enjoyed too. I enjoy reading light hearted poems. I can also relate being a mother myself. It is a well written poem.
